My standard academic proofread includes all of the general checks for typos, errors, inconsistencies and issues with layout, captions, cross-references, house style, etc.
It also provides specialist scholarly attention to:
- citation style
- presentation and layout of quotations
- footnotes/endnotes
- bibliography/list of references.
Additionally, I can work on other aspects of your text, according to your needs. For example, I could:
- proofread and/or check your index, or create an index from scratch from your proofs
- switch a full manuscript text from one citation style to another
- change footnotes into endnotes, or vice versa, and ensure the numbering remains correct
- adjust style elements of full chapters or sections to achieve consistency in multi-authored works
- comment on logic flow and readability, point out over-long sentences or paragraphs, or help you to reduce the word-count if your editor has asked you to make cuts
