I love words.<\/p>

I also enjoy punctuation, and I’m a fan of grammar when it doesn’t take itself too seriously. I find citation systems fun and I often read the index first.*<\/p>

I am a former academic with a book and various articles in my published portfolio. I ran editorial administration for an international SSCI-indexed scholarly journal, so I know academic publishing from that side, too. I’ve worked in arts administration, in which capacity I read thousands of brochures, leaflets, programmes and adverts. I have a PhD in Drama from Royal Holloway, University of London, UK.<\/p>

In my spare time I write fiction. I have twice been shortlisted for the Mslexia Children’s Novel Prize, and I am a former winner of New Writing North’s Andrea Badenoch Fiction Prize.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t
